This is an original work of art titled "Footnotes in Black & White" by Martha Klein Haley and Jen Shurtlife in 1993. I saw this magnificent work hanging in an art gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah, fell in love with it, and contacted the artist and purchased it about 25 years ago. This work of art depicts the slaves and how they would have been arranged on a ship in their journey to America. It also has the names and statements that may have been of those who were enslaved in America. If you decide to buy this quilt/wall hanging, I will tell one other thing that Martha told me about this quilted wall hanging that made it extra special to her and will make it extra special to whomever owns it.This wall hanging has a special slot in the back, which I have depicted in the pictures, to run a pole through for hanging. It is extra large, large enough for a full size bed, but really is much too nice and special to use as a bed cover and was not created for that purpose. (Approximately 8 foot x 5 1/2 foot. The front side of the quilted hanging is tan and black with cream lining.meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"(meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1")
